Anita Kallen and Catherine Thomson with Elizabeth Doyle on piano
After a sold-out performance of this exciting new show last June, Catherine and Anita are thrilled to return to Davenport’s to prove once again that “well-behaved women seldom make history.” With music by Sondheim, Lennon & McCartney, the Sherman Brothers, Parton, Schwartz, Porter, Doyle and others, Anita and Catherine weave in the story of women’s suffrage from second-class citizenship at the nation’s founding to the nail-biting final days in the fight for ratification of the 19th Amendment. Elizabeth Doyle will be at the piano accompanying this dynamic blend of music and history. Check out video clips from the show’s debut: https://youtu.be/OqXzuA4OzDY
Please join us on March 22nd to launch Chicago Cabaret Week and celebrate Women’s History Month with HERstory: The 19th Amendment Turns 100!

What Audience Members Have Said About the Show:
A wonderful performance by smart, strong women with beautiful voices, music, humor and a fantastic historical journey shared.
This show is touching and important. Thoroughly enjoyable and thought provoking. It reminds me of how much I’ve taken women’s rights and liberty for granted. They were possible because of the long, painful fight by those who refused to give up their hopes and dreams.
This was a wonderful show! Thoughtful, clever, funny, beautifully sung!
Beautiful arrangements, fabulous harmonies all beautifully interwoven with fascinating stories of the Women’s Suffrage movement. An amazing journey told and sung by amazing women!
Catherine Thomson is “…a cabaret artist to watch. Not only does she sing like a canary and move like a cat, she gets the art of cabaret and thus is, above all, a wonderful story teller.”
– Cabaret Scenes magazine
“Thomson brings much to the cabaret table… She landed the humor beautifully.” – Cabaret Scenes magazine
Anita Kallen is “rock solid vocally and confident interpretively which enables her to tell a heck of a story… Today’s confident shimmery Kallen has become a real entertainer!” — Cabaret Scenes magazine
